Delivery Process for Bulk Landscape Materials
At Elmwood Bark and Stone, we make ordering mulch, topsoil, compost, stone, and other bulk landscape materials as simple as possible. Once your order is placed, our team schedules your delivery based on your selected time slot, delivery location, and the quantity of material being delivered.
Delivery Time Slots
Customers can choose between morning and afternoon delivery windows:
Weekday Morning Delivery: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Weekday Afternoon Delivery: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Weekend Morning Delivery: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Weekend Afternoon Delivery: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
While we do our best to honor the selected delivery window, routes are scheduled based on location, truck capacity, and the most efficient delivery order for the day. If you select an afternoon delivery and we are able to fit your order into the morning route, we may contact you to schedule the delivery for earlier.
When to Order?
We offer next-day delivery Monday through Friday, including making deliveries on Saturday for most bulk products. Any drop ship deliveries such as quantities of topsoil over 15 yards must be ordered 2 days in advance. Currently, we are closed on Sundays.
Marking Your Dump Location
Before your delivery arrives, customers must clearly mark where they would like the material dumped. This can be done with a tarp, cone, bucket, sign, chalk marking, or another clear indicator.
Please make sure the dump location is accessible for our delivery truck and free of vehicles, low wires, branches, or other obstacles. If the driver cannot safely access the marked area, the material will be placed in the closest safe location.
Being On Site for Delivery
Customers do not need to be home for delivery if the dump location is clearly marked.
If you would like to be on site, we can call ahead before arrival. However, if we are unable to reach you, the driver will continue with the scheduled route and may not be able to wait. Missed calls or unclear instructions may result in the delivery being placed in the safest available location or delayed depending on the situation.
Additional charges to pick up or move material once dumped may be applied if the area is not clearly marked.
How We Schedule Deliveries
Our delivery schedule is built around location, material quantity, and truck routing. This allows us to serve customers efficiently while keeping delivery costs fair and orders moving throughout the day.
Because we deliver bulk materials across multiple towns, exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Our goal is always to get your order delivered safely, efficiently, and as close to your selected time window as possible.
Delivery Fee Structure
Our base delivery fee of $50 includes the first 5 miles for each bulk product. If your location is within 5 miles of our facility, no extra charges apply. For distances beyond 5 miles, an additional fee of $9 is charged per mile. We do not charge differently based on the size of the truck making the delivery.
We are dedicated to ensuring timely and safe delivery, so you can focus on creating your ideal outdoor space.
Truck Capacity:
Our largest trucks can accommodate up to 18 yards of mulch, 7 yards of topsoil, or 6 yards of aggregate stone. For quantities exceeding these limits, feel free to contact us and we can arrange deliveries of larger quantities of material over the phone.

- Your dump location is clearly marked.
- The delivery area is open and accessible.
- Vehicles are moved out of the way.
- Low branches, wires, or tight access points are noted ahead of time.
- You answer your phone if you asked for a call ahead.
